The rules of the game, in plain words.
What this is
One More Peek is an entertainment site with short social games. You pick what you like, then you predict what everyone else picked. It is a game, not a survey, not research, and not a representative opinion poll. An optional guest practice round uses an already closed contest. Its answers do not count as votes and do not earn points.
Your account
One person, one account. One email address belongs to one account — you can enter it with a password or with Google, it is still the same account. Do not create extra accounts to play a contest more than once.
How results are decided
Your place depends on how close your prediction was to the real answer, then on how fast you decided, measured in exact milliseconds on our server. If two players are identical on both, the one who entered the contest earlier is placed higher. A contest closes only when one choice is clearly most popular and one is clearly least popular. A tie for either extreme keeps voting open; a tie between the two middle choices does not. Middle choices with equal votes receive the same prediction-accuracy grade.
These are the rules of this game. They are applied the same way to everybody and announced in advance.
Points
A single contest gives at most 20 points, no matter how many people played. Points are added up per calendar month and across all time.
Fair play
Do not use bots or scripts. Do not try to break, overload or probe the site. We may suspend an account that does.
Emails
We send account emails when your account needs them. News by email is optional: you choose it yourself and can unsubscribe in one click at any time. See the Privacy page.
What we promise and what we do not
We run the site as carefully as we can, but we do not promise it will never be down and we do not promise it will run forever. Points and places have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for anything.
Changes
If we change the rules of scoring, we publish the updated rules on the site before using them to settle a contest.
